Gaylord Ventura is an ophthalmic medical technologist holding certification with the Joint Commision of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). Gaylord completed his undergraduate degree at Old Dominion University and ophthalmic training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He performs contact lens fittings, sensorimotor examination, visual field testing, visual evoked response testing, fundus photography and other various special testing. He is especially skilled in the measurement of eye movement disorders and difficult pediatric aphakic contact lens fittings.
He is our site research coordinator for our many different ongoing pediatric studies and is a certified vision tester for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) funded by the National Eye Institute. He has received awards and recognition for his contributions in the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) network.
